Empowering Queer Young People Together
To empower youth workers across Europe with the knowledge, skills, and awareness needed to effectively support queer young people in exploring and affirming their identities related to Body, Agency, and Gender, fostering their well-being and resilience, especially in online spaces.
Our Mission
Our Vision
To cultivate a European youth work landscape where all queer young people feel safe, understood, and empowered to express their authentic selves, free from discrimination and marginalization, contributing to a more inclusive and equitable society.
Our motivation
Queer young people navigate a world that often doesn't fully understand or affirm their diverse experiences related to their bodies, agency, and gender. This can lead to unique challenges, particularly online, where they face discrimination and a lack of tailored support. Recognizing the pivotal role of youth workers in the lives of these young people, our project was born from a shared commitment to equip these frontline professionals with the necessary tools and awareness to create truly inclusive and empowering environments.
A B.A.G. for inclusion is a collaborative European project dedicated to empowering youth workers to better understand and support queer young people in navigating the complexities of Body, Agency, and Gender (BAG), particularly within the online world.
We recognize that queer young people, encompassing individuals who fall outside traditional norms of gender and sexuality, often face unique challenges, including discrimination, isolation, and a lack of tailored resources. Youth workers play a vital role in providing guidance and fostering inclusive environments, yet many report a need for specific training and tools to address these sensitive topics effectively.
This project brings together partner organizations from Serbia, Italy, Poland, and Spain to bridge this gap. Through the development of innovative educational resources, including a didactic concept, comprehensive digital online course, a practical training format, and an accessible educational handbook, we aim to equip youth workers with the knowledge, skills, and awareness necessary to promote the agency and well-being of queer young people.
Furthermore, our podcast series will share valuable insights and real-life experiences from youth workers engaged in this crucial work, fostering a sense of community and shared learning.
Ultimately, "A B.A.G. for inclusion" strives to create a more inclusive and supportive landscape for queer young people, enabling them to develop their identities confidently and free from the risk of discrimination and marginalization. By investing in the capacity of youth workers, we are working towards a future where all young people feel safe, valued, and empowered to be themselves, both online and offline.
This project prioritizes inclusion and diversity in education and contributes to enhancing the quality and innovation of youth work across Europe.
